I Write What I Read

I already know that this is going to be one hell of a roller coaster of feels. Will Day die? I hope not! But he is the protagonist of this story, so I'm thinking that he will recover. He has to.

I'm so not looking forward to awkward situations between Day and June, one or the other being hurt because of jealousy (most probably Day), and I sure hope this doesn't happen but I hope they don't get to a point where they say awful things to each other like the tunnels in Prodigy. They are just so good together and I don't like them fighting!

I'm still trying to buckle down my emotions, or ready it, whatever applies.

Ugh! I did it again! I randomly picked a book and read it! And thank God for that because I love it so so much! I am definitely loving June. She is hands down the most bad ass character! Well next to Rose Hathaway, but then again she's moroi while June's human. Rose has those extraordinary strength, agility and skill because of her being half vampire, but June is just human.

I was reading another book but that one kind of scared me so I started reading this, and there was a lot of things going on in real life (yes I said real life) that distracted me from reading, so Legend brought me back on track. The scary book I was talking about is The Coldest Girl in Coldtown by Holly Black. This book is dark! I still have to gather up some strength to finish it. Well, I'm a scaredy cat, so............

My friends and I had coffee last night to catch up. We rarely see each other, but when we do it's like nothing's change at all, like we just saw each other yesterday. We don't talk so much as well and that's what amazes me with the kind of friendship we all have.




The saying is true: It doesn't matter how many friends you have, they might be few as long as they are true, and that's what really counts.



My point is that... the coffee kept me awake till almost 4am! I read and read and waited for my eyes to get tired, but it did not happen! I attempted to sleep twice, putting down my tablet and shut my eyes, but my head was still buzzing like hell and my eyes were not as cooperative as well... alright my whole body! I was so awake!


It's was a first time. Coffee never affected me in that way before. It was a new coffee we tried. I forgot the name, but it had caramel on it.


And so I read through half the book in mere hours... and sad to say I'm not liking the story at all. It wasn't very engaging. I wouldn't mind not sleeping if I was reading, but the first half of the story just made me want to just sleep, beg for it, even!


I felt the story was dallying in irrelevant things, and there's not so much Peter! They're officially together now, but why isn't there so much Peter and Lara Jean moments?? It's frustrating!





Crossing my fingers that the other half of the story turns things around, because I really want to love this story, and to not feel like I've waited and got my self excited only to be disappointed.

Just started it this morning and I am almost half way! This book has been amazing so far.


I now understand the hype.

I started reading it yesterday right after The Red Pyramid. I know I said I was excited to read The Throne of Fire, but what made me hesitant was because I was worried I'd get into another reading slump thinking I'm way over my head in reading fantasies. So I went ahead with this book. Young love!



Well, I think that Lara Jean is more charming than Belly. Maybe I can't see it now because she's still too young. My heart only started beating for this book when it introduced Cam.

After finishing Cress, I decided not to read Fairest right away for two reasons. First, because as I said... the paper works! Ugh... Secondly, I hate Levana that much to resist reading a book! Hahaha. But that all changed eventually. Earlier at work I got a load off and decided to have a look-see at Fairest and haven't stopped reading until it was time to get off from work!

Without a doubt, Marissa Meyer is a great writer. It's not so much as I don't think it's a good story but I don't want anything to do with Levana, honestly. Surprisingly I tore through the book until I was about 50% done. I got so caught up with the story... It's so dark and twisted; very, very different from Cinder, Scarlet and Cress.

What I learned so far from Fairest is that Levana is a lot worse than I thought.

Anyways, will review it as soon as I finish it!

 

I'm enjoying this book very much so far! I've been wanting to read this, because of it being a retelling of a classical fairy tale... and cyborgs! I love the setting and Iko has grown on me so much!

 

Started it yesterday and I'm already enchanted to it! Can't wait to share my thoughts about it!

The author, Sever Bronny, asked me to review his novel. So far I'm liking the story. It's a bit long but I think it'll be worth the read. The main character, Augum, is starting to grow on me.

 

The only piece I've ever read from David was Will Grayson, Will Grayson, which he wrote with John Green. I've also read Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist! I loved the movie but I love the book more and everything was magical, the feels!!

WGWG is one of my favorite YA books. I especially love Tiny! It was a very funny book, but also at the same time very inspiring. And the musicals? Oh God the musicals! I just wanted to really see it.

Now I'm reading a purely Levithan book and I am totally at a loss for words at how beautiful every word that David has written on this book is. I am close to the end and already I am feeling a little sadness as I really don't know how A will end up; and again I am reminded of how love is really not enough.

A does not have a real body that he can call his own, but in my mind, as with Rhiannon's, he is so real, too real in fact, that I am already attached to this... this... this person.

I feel for him everytime he realizes some degree of humanness that he will never ever experience. Like waking up in the same bed with the person he slept with the night before, a family crying for him in his funeral, a pet! and also having someone to grow old with.

 

I'm loving Sutter Keely so much on the first few chapters! I bet I'll love him more in the coming chapters!

I'm stopping myself from watching the movie before I even finish reading it...

He had been in tight spots many times; but there was something about being confined in a city clamped to the underside of the earth’s crust that made him feel claustrophobic for the first time in his life.

 

The book cover is so eye catching and you get the idea right away that it's about fairy tales. 

Most of all I love the art! There's a map of the whole school grounds and the woods

Like the Harry Potter books, it also has illustrations in every chapter!

 

The brilliant and talented artist is Iacopo Bruno that has also done many book covers!
