Here's a first look at Jace and Clary together, which director McG shared.

Hmmm.. Lemme see. From L-R are Simon, Luke, idk (who's this?), Jace, Clary, Izzy and Alec!

A very believable BFFs!

"Shadowhunters, looking better in black than the widows of our enemies Since1234"
The latest news for the Shadowhunter series was casting Dom Sherwood as our Jace, and now we have a Simon and an Isabelle.
Seeing this video of Alberto thanking the fans, yeah.... I do see him as Simon! I'm happy with the cast thus far. And I love that it's diverse. Casting done right!
Hey, here's the series' title art! It's awesome!
Alberto Rosende (a relatively new actor) will play Simon while Emeraude Toubia (also new) will play Isabelle Lightwood, ABC Family announced Friday afternoon. x

They are new actors and its freaking me out that we won't see a sort of reference to their previous works! Eeeep! I am only consoled with the thought that Cassie thinks they are great.
I love the actors they've cast so far. I'm delighted we have a diverse cast. They are gorgeous and talented.

Shadowhunters begins filming its 13-episode season later this year and reboots the story seen in The Mortal Instruments book and film. A premiere date hasn’t been set.
Hey, here's the series' title art! It's awesome!

For quite sometime now we have been waiting with bated breath of news about The Mortal instruments TV series. It will start shooting in Toronto in May, and will premiere on ABC in 2016. But the best news? WE'VE GOT OUR JACE WAYLAND!
Dominic Sherwood, memba' him? Ofcourse you do! His practically everywhere! Paparazzi shots with his hot girlfriend and star of Modern Family Sarah Hyland.

In the Taylor Swift music video of "Style."

Vampire Academy fans raise your hands!!! He played Christian Ozera in the movie adaptation of Richelle Mead's Vampire Academy novel, where he met Sarah Hyland who played Natalie Dashkov.

Unlike the dark-haired vampire royalty Christian, to be Jace, first and foremost he will have to dye his hair blonde. TMI fans would have loved JCB back as Jace but Dom it is and aren't we just thankful that there's a TV series? City of Ashes movie was never a sure thing anyway.
We have our male lead, now we gotta know who the female lead is right? Who is your dream cast? But I think anyday now, we'll have our Simon first.

Robert Sheehan was a perfect Simon. I wish with all my heart he gets recasted but I guess that's very unlikely. Whoever gets casted as Simon has a lot of things to live up to - no pressure! Hahaha!
To demishadowhunt19, thank you so much for your question to Cassandra Clare! Because of that, we have a director's cut of the CoHF Clace cave scene... yes, that one!
I'm not gonna post it here in full, because this blog is wholesome, thank you very much (LOL to that). Sucks that this scene was not included in the book itself! On second thought, I myself had difficulty suppressing them kilig feels of this here sexy times scene! I was squealing inwardly. Well I'm at the office, I can't go on exploding in fits of giggles, lest they discover what I'm actually doing during work time! Hahahahaha! Yup, this stuff's NSFW!
Here's the end part of it, the rest you can read here.

“I love you,” she said, her hands in his hair. “I love you.”She saw his eyes widen and something behind his expression crack. The last wall around his heart, the last piece of self-protection he’d held in place. It crumbled away into blazing light as he came undone against her, like sunlight bursting into a room that had been walled up for a long, long time. He buried his face in her neck, saying her name over and over before he collapsed against her shoulder. And when finally Clary closed her eyes she thought she saw the cavern blaze up in gold and white, wrapping them both in heavenly fire, the most beautiful thing she had ever seen.
Cassie
posted on her tumblr a VERY long post that answers the most asked question
she gets, “Will you write more Mortal
Instruments books/write more about the TMI characters/will the TMI characters
be in TDA/what happens to the TMI characters?”
She answers quite simply- NO. Cassie is not trying to hurt us or anything
with her declaration, she doesn’t also mean that she will never ever write
about them also, but not as the protagonists anymore. She goes on to explain
why:
A while ago, my friend Stephanie Perkins did an interview on twitter and someone asked her if she would write another book about Anna and Etienne, the characters from Anna and the French Kiss. She said, “No, because I don’t want to have to hurt them more.”
See? She would never do anything to let us down, her fans
and readers. What she’s doing is protecting her characters, the same characters
that have been so attached to us and whom we have grown to love so much it
breaks us.
Truly, this is not me saying that you will never see Jace and Clary, Simon and Isabelle, Magnus and Alec, again. In fact as we know Simon gets his own ten-novella book, like Magnus. (This is because I did not leave Simon in a happy place at the end of City of Heavenly Fire, so I feel okay about making him a protagonist, even hurting him, because he was already hurting. He didn’t really remember who he was, or his best friend, or the girl he was in love with. And Isabelle was heartbroken. So I’m fine with giving them closure, but to write more stories about Jace and Clary (or Malec) I would have to rip open old wounds and start the bleeding again.)
So the question is, do you want to see Jace and Clary be
hurt again? No, I don’t think my heart can handle anymore feels for Jace and
especially for Malec. But for Simon, he gets his shot at happiness in the
ten-novella book that will soon be released. As much as I was hurting in CoHF
because there was no closure for Simon, my favorite character, I knew that
Cassie would never ever do that to Simon and I just knew that I had to trust
Cassie that CoHF was not the end for Simon, and truly, it isn’t.
The short answer to the question “Will we see the crew from TMI in The Dark Artifices” is yes (as you can see in this snippet from Lady Midnight right here). It’s always been yes. You will see them, but they will not be the main characters. You will find out if they stay together…who gets married…who has what job…who breaks up…who has kids. All of that stuff is important: it creates continuity, and hopefully a feeling of a big, real world.
… Hopefully, you’ll be willing to take a chance on falling in love with new characters and follow me — and Jace and Clary, and Simon and Izzy and Magnus and Alec — into the Dark Artifices. After all, there are as many Shadowhunter books to come as there are already published. We’re only just getting started. :)
YES, I would like to have more Shadowhunter books to read!
Now, who’s excited for the upcoming wedding? I bet it’s Malec’s!
After stalling at the box office, The Mortal Instruments is coming back. As a television series.Constantin Film, the production company that controls the rights to Cassandra Clare's best-selling YA fantasy franchise and which produced The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones film, is relaunching Mortal Instruments as a high-end drama series. x
I seriously love Constantin Film, they are making millions of fans' dream come true! Filming starts about early next year, some are estimating a Fall premiere.
Thank you Constantin Film for not letting go of this project, even when it did poorly on the box office. I can't believe we'll be having a Simon we can see on TV!
I don't mind at all if the original cast don't get casted, it just means more people to ogle over... erm, admire, right?

This was exactly what I felt after City of Heavenly Fire
with Simon. I got so excited that he was going to be a shadowhunter! Somehow I
knew Cassie wasn’t gonna leave the story just that. Weeks later she announced
the there will be more about Simon in an upcoming Tales
from the Shadow Hunter Academy.
People have a lot of questions about the ending of the
series, so do I. But this is the most perfect answer out of all the questions Cassie
has answered!
They are all so chummy and so friendly with each other and they are all
paired up, silly love birds... and then there's Alec and Magnus. Huh, makes you
wish they hadn't fall in love in the earlier books just so they could be
together with all the other pairings.
Oh how I missed my Simon. Yup, he is officially now the hottest vampire
in town- that is, in Izzy and Maureen's eyes. I don't get why he's keeping the
fairy ring? I'm just afraid that it could be an instrument or something that can
make him suffer in the future, since it comes from the fair folks who claims
that are incapable of lying but are very much traitorous creatures!
Seriously, the Seelie Queen and Sebastian? That was a shocker. How did
Sebastian even wooed her? Was there even a wooing necessary? Seriously,
seriously...! I bet this will bring the demise of the fair folk, I just feel
it!
They trust a person that is the most detestable man walking the earth
right now- or wherever realm he may be! Surely they will be served with what is
fit for them for breaking the Accords.
Hooray for new characters! Albeit their introduction to the story is a
bit grim, the Blackthorns are pretty intriguing and are all charming
characters, as well as Emma Carstairs. Cassandra’s build-up of this brood for
her next series, The Dark Artifices, and is very appealing. I would definitely
wait for it! I already have a favorite- Tiberius! I sense this intelligence
about him that could probably make him lovable for future readers of that
series, and that he will be exceptional.
This character has been in the earlier books but we get to read about a
different Brother Zachariah! He turns back to his previous form as a Nephilim
after being touched by the heavenly fire. This was a very good curve in the
story, and then we learn about him a little more, specifically about Tessa
Gray. I love that not everything that's happening are centered to the Nephilim
world and the most important of them like Jace and Clary and the Lightwoods,
etc. Everybody gets a share at the spotlight. Oh and he got hot! Well, that's
according to Izzy. Simon is hot for her, so I'll take her word about Brother
Zachariah.
(as of page 215)
Con’td…
Maia and Lily, a vampire loyal to Raphael, teamed up to bring Maureen
down. Although that was quite a let-down. We’re talking about vampires and
werewolves here! There should have been this epic fight in the human world
while the shadow world is also on the edge… but there wasn’t. Maureen was easily
subdued by being tricked into drinking holy water. I enjoyed the team work
between the downworlders in New York though. I would love to see this scene in
flesh: the vampires and werewolves in the abandoned police station, on their
phones, working together, gathering supporters for the Shadow Hunters.
Cassie truly presented girl power here which is really great. Besides
the main characters, Clary and Izzie, two others stood out for me. Raphael
being killed by Sebastian, made Lily the leader of the New York vampire clan
and also fittingly became the representative for the Children of the Night in
the Council. Luke abdicated as pack leader of the werewolves in NY, and the
same thing happened to Maia. She became pack leader and representative in the
Council. It’s impressive because her companions are immortals, Magnus and Lily
having acquired all this knowledge and such through the ages, while she’s just
16!!! And lemme just also say she beat the crap out of that dude that wanted to
take over the pack from Bat while he was standing in for Luke. Ha!
I had a little difficulty reading because of the omniscient POV. I just
got used to reading books narrated by first person because I read all the
Vampire Academy series and Bloodlines series straight! Hahaha! So I kept going
back a few paragraphs to understand it thoroughly.
We are all suckers for happy endings, and sadly this is the ending for
their story. We move on to the next generation and as much as that makes me sad,
I also want to move on and explore more about this world and the changes that
come with the new series. Clary and Jace are more than fine, as well as Magnus
and Alec. I know their dilemma and how do they get through that? Love always
has the answer. It was just Carpe Diem for them. Simon and Izzie..! Okay I’m
not a fan of this pair. I love him and Clary together but I understand the
boundary of their friendship and I see how perfect Clary is for Jace. I guess
their love story just didn’t have this epic fall out like with Clace and Malec
and so I don’t empathize with them so much. The most of their problem was
DTRing.
But I’m so proud of Simon! And myself too for picking the best
character to love! In the end he saved them all. He is the biggest hero.
Honestly, I didn’t felt the gravity of the consequence of him losing his memory
about the Shadow world. Not until I placed myself in Clary’s shoes. Instantly
my chest tightened and I was literally out of breath. It was like this sadness
that suddenly drowned me. That was scary. If I had a Simon, it would tear me
apart to not be a part of his life anymore (fan girling).
When all hope seemed lost, Magnus comes to the rescue. I squealed when I
read “The Mortal Instruments” as Simon’s new band name!! Tears just rolled down
on the part, “and it was Simon and it was
Simon and it was Simon.”
His character is undeniably the most developed throughout the books.
From being a mundane, to a vampire, to a daylighter, then having the Mark of
Cain, then back again to a daylighter, and eventually back again to a mundane….
Finally to be a Shadow Hunter through Ascending!
I wish there would be more about Simon as a Shadow Hunter. He’d be
pretty bad ass. And please a visual of him in gear! Ugh. This is killing me. I’m
constantly checking on Tumblr for any CoHF meme or fan art... whatever!
6 out of 5 stars!

When fifteen-year-old Clary Fray heads out to Pandemonium, a club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder – much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons.
Equally startled by her ability to see them, the murderers explain themselves as Shadowhunters: a secret tribe of Nephilim warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demons. This is her first encounter with Jace Wayland, a Shadowhunter who looks a little like an angel and acts a lot like a jerk. Within twenty-four hours, Clary's mother disappears, Clary is attacked and almost killed by a demon, and is soon pulled into Jace's world with a vengeance.
But why would demons be interested in ordinary mundanes like Clary and her mother? And how did Clary suddenly get the Sight? Secrets will be told.
My rating: 5 stars
My reason in reading the series is because of its movie adaptation which premiered just recently, which got me very curious because of its large follwing and fanbase. However, the ulitmate reason is Jamie Campbell Bower who plays Jace Wayland, one of the main characters. I think he's very charming and sexy in his own way. I've noticed him ever since in Sweeney Todd, and also he appeared in two movies of the Harry Potter franchises and to my chagrin, he also had a part in Twilight series.
So anyway, about the book. I had no expectation at all, because I tried as much not to google about it. Firstly, I was surpised that it's actually funny. Especially Simon. Through half of the first book, I knew Simon Lewis was my guy! He's like the comic relief, and those type of characters are what I'm totally in to. I didn't really realized it at first, but his character, which I'm very glad, is very vital to the story. He gets dragged into this world within our world or the world of the mundane, which is awesome becuase he's just a "mundane" without this great skill and power but at the most crucial part, he was able to contribute something- he saved some snobbish Shadowhunter asses, I hate that it wasn't what happened in the movie! Instead of Simon, Jace "saved" them when Madame Dorothea was possesed and attacked them. It was suppose to e badass because Simon killed it with his arrow shooting skills!
It's funny 'cause at first I was so ready to fall inlove with Jace... but it's better to be inlove with Simon! Much much much better! Sometimes I loathe Jace when he belittles SImon.
I like that Clary is not this smart, level headed girl, and that she wasn't that much beautified. She is what she is and very likeable. But I kinda had a bad thought about her when she decided to have a relationship with Simon, upon discovering that Jace was his brother. Friend-zoned turned rebound. Simon deserves more! But there is no denying their chemistry. I like reading their conversations in the books and always makes me wish that I had that kind of bestfriend.
Where do I even begin with Jace? He is actually a typical badass, cool character, plus the sarcasm, oh he just makes all the readers fall inlove with him right away! But it was nice to see a different side of him in the light of discovering that Valentine was his dad. That shut his srcasm up. I think he might have thought it a bad joke that blew in his face, no?
I am so bad at recognizing when someone is gay. Alec seemed also badass to me, and I'm still not kinda used to reading something with the third sex. I'm not saying that it's bad, it's actually cool! I'm all for it.
In the book I envisioned Isabella as this awesome, hot, fierce warrior, something like Lara Croft. I got a bit disaapointed in the actor they chose. Frankly I don't see her sexy not in the way how Isabelle was portrayed and how I see her. I'm not saying the actress is not sexy, not at all! She just seems to me a no-nonsense kind of girl and it's kinda hard for me to picture her flirting... *shrugs
Magnus Bane was for me an old dude. I'm so glad he's not! He so fiiiiiiine! Period. And also Luke! Everyone in the movie all seem so young, as well as Valentine. I guess not really young, but hot! Hahaha.
With a whole new world that I'm getting to know, I'm loving everything about it. The glamour, the shadow world, Alicante, the institutes, the shadowhunters, downworlders, angels and demons, and this actually gave me an open mind reading about vampires! I didn't even think that was possible! But because of Simon, he made vampires sexy again!
(Note: This was first drafted on September last year and just finished it today. Months after I have read all the books of The Mortal Instruments series. I am currently waiting for the release of City of Heavenly Fire!)
